	Numeruis Popodius Ampliatus was a freedman of [[place::Pompeii]] who restored at his expense the temple of [[character::Isis]] after it was destroyed by the earthquake in AD62. He did this in the name of his six year old son Celsinus. By this act his son was (or had already been) elected to the town council [[term::ordo decurionum]] owing to the fact that he was ineligible, having not been born a freedman. The ''ordo'' had quite a high property qualification and members were expected to show benefaction. Mueller’s The Wool Trade of Ancient Pompeii (she is not mentioned in the Cooley Sourcebook for Pompeii) and The Cults of Campania, Volume 1 By Roy Merle Peterson who references inscription in mosaic C.I.L.X. 848
