DNS
Domain Naming System which translates all computers on a network into IP Addresses
DNS Scavenging
Any computer that has connected to the network in the past has recorded a DNS address such as the computer name. DNS Scavenging cleans up (deletes) the name from the DNS Server. A good article on DNS scavenging can be found here [1]
