Numeruis Popodius Ampliatus was a freedman of Pompeii who restored at his expense the temple of Isis after it was destroyed by the earthquake in AD62. He did this in the name of his six year old son Celsinus. By this act his son was (or had already been) elected to the town council ordo decurionum owing to the fact that he was ineligible, having not been born a freedman. The ordo had quite a high property qualification and members were expected to show benefaction.
According to this source [1] Ampliatus’ wife (and the mother of Celsinus) is named as Corelia Celsa on p. 61 of W.O. Mueller’s The Wool Trade of Ancient Pompeii (she is not mentioned in the Cooley Sourcebook for Pompeii) and The Cults of Campania, Volume 1 By Roy Merle Peterson who references inscription in mosaic C.I.L.X. 848
He was freed from the family of Popidius Rufus who also freed Lucius Popidius Ampliatus
