Numeruis Popodius Ampliatus was a freedman of Pompeii who restored at his expense the temple of Isis after it was destroyed by the earthquake in AD62. He did this in the name of his six year old son Celsinus. By this act his son was (or had already been) elected to the town council ordo decurionum owing to the fact that he was ineligible, having not been born a freedman. The ordo had quite a high property qualification and members were expected to show benefaction.

He was freed from the family of Popidius Rufus who also freed Lucius Popodius Ampliatus
