Barracuda http://www.barracudanetworks.com/ is a company that provides security, network and data protection solutions. At WNA it is used as a spam filter on the Exchange Server. It serves to block known spam emails but also has the capability to block otherwise legitimate emails and whitelist emails that would otherwise be blocked.

Barracuda also has a flow control mechanism that can block hold emails for delivery if the rate of emails increases that would indicate a denial of service attack.

Although WNA's MX record is held by Mimecast who scan emails before they reach WNA, it has been useful as a secondary tool for emails that slip through.
