iFolder was a laptop synchronization and collaboraion tool from Novell. With a client loaded on a laptop or PC, iFolder would sysnchronize a users files with those on a centralized server. Synchronizing woould take place at the bit level and not the file level. This would mean that Ifolder would look for changes made to a file and synchronize thoses rather than synchronizing the whole file. This significantly reduced the time to back up as well as the bandwidth requirements. It worked on all files apart from those files where bit level sysnchronization did not work like Exchange Server ost and pst files.
Restoring files back to the laptop or another laptop was straigttforward and could also be accomplished using an internet browser interface.
Novell originally provided the application to run on a Windows Server environment but later did not provide support for Windows Server 2003. At which point WNA decommissioned it and replaced it with DLO.
